Distribution

Intandem Film Distributors (“IFD”) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Intandem Films plc. 
It was formed in Spring 2012 and is one of the truly independent UK Film distributors.

Intandem has recruited one of the most experienced and successful teams ever 
assembled in a single film distribution company in the UK.

Films released by the members of the IFD team have grossed  over £1.5 billion  
($2.5billion) at the UK box office and include films such as ‘Pirates of the
Caribbean’, ‘Toy Story’, ‘Independence Day’, ‘Juno’, ‘Calendar Girls’, ‘When
Harry Met Sally’, ‘Star Wars’, ‘The Full Monty’ and ‘Titanic’. In total, the team
has been involved in releasing sixteen out of the top fifty films ever released in
cinemas in the UK.

Objectives

IFD’s objective is to become one of the leading independent film distributors in
the UK through the theatrical release of Intandem’s own productions and selected
acquisitions from other sales companies and film producers.

The team will work with new talented British film-makers and writers whilst
continuing to work with the established Directors and Film Producers with whom
the team already have strong links mainly in London and Los Angeles.

Theatrical Release

The most important aspect of distribution is the theatrical release in cinemas and the Intandem team
has over twenty years experience each in releasing films covering all genres and all budgets. Such films
include thrillers, horrors, romantic comedies, top action films dramas and animation. The budgets for these
films range from $1million to $200million. We are very excited about the future for IFD and the whole team is
ready for a very active theatrical release schedule.


IFD aim to maximize the revenues from the UK exploitation of the feature films it represents for the benefit of the producer and film funders. The theatrical release of the film involves booking dates in cinemas, preparing the marketing plan and implementing the media spend. IFD  use some of the top PR companies and independent media booking companies on a freelance basis. The release also benefits from Intandem’s in house social media marketing expertise as well as third party agencies.

IFD is committed to releasing films in an innovative, cost effective manner whilst still achieving a movie’s maximum potential.. IFD is committed to returning revenue for its investors, not just from back end activity, but from the theatrical launch.

The Team

IFD is headed up by Robert Mitchell, formerly Managing Director of Walt Disney Motion Pictures UK. The breadth of product on the release slate at Disney, including Touchstone Films and Miramax, meant he was responsible for the distribution and marketing of films as diverse as ‘Lion King’ and ‘Pulp Fiction’, ‘Toy Story’ and ‘There Will Be Blood’, ‘Finding Nemo’ and ‘The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas’. Previous to his post at Disney, Robert held top jobs at Palace Pictures and Warner Bros. He is also a former Distributor of the Year and a BAFTA winner.

Terry Dove, Sales Director, was formerly Executive Sales Director of Twentieth Century Fox where he not only released major films from the Studio but also more independent films from Fox Searchlight and Fox 2000. In total, Terry has released close to five hundred films across all genres. Some of the highlights include ‘Star Wars’, ‘Titanic’, ‘The Full Monty’, ‘Die Hard’, ‘Independence Day’, ‘Braveheart’ and ‘The Ice Age’ franchise, as well as more specialised titles such as ‘Juno’, ‘Little Miss Sunshine’ and ‘The Last King of Scotland’. Terry will ensure that Intandem’s films are released competitively and astutely.

JJDonovan, Marketing Director of IFD, has over 20 years experience in film marketing . He began at Palace Pictures releasing films such as ‘When Harry Met Sally’, ‘Cinema Paradiso’ and ‘The Crying Game’.  After working at Disney, JJ was placed within Foresight, a small promotions agency to develop the Disney business. Within five years Foresight was the leading Entertainment Promotions, PR and Events agency in Europe.
