Synopsis

Set in rural Alabama 1961, HOUNDDOG follows a precocious and troubled young girl, Lewellen (Dakota Fanning), who is in love with Elvis and his music.

She herself is deeply talented and finds comfort and safety in Elvis‘ music. The groundskeeper of the neighbouring estate, a wise old man and a musician himself, sees her gift and helps her use it to escape the troubled home she's trapped in and to "somehow make good outta what can poison ya."
